Community Occupational Therapist Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Community Occupational Therapist to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. As an occupational therapist in community settings, you will work with clients of all ages to promote independence, participation, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and goals, identifying strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices and client-centered approaches.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and referral processes.
  • Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers on healthy habits, safety awareness, and disease prevention.
  • Promote accessibility and inclusivity through advocacy and community engagement initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, research, and policy developments in occupational therapy, applying knowledge to enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience working in community settings or rehabilitation environments is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with capacity to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
