Key Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Finance Partner, you will work closely with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to assist the Chief Commercial Officer and his team in optimizing planning, operational efficiency, revenue generation, and cost control across various departments. The ideal candidate will conduct thorough analyses, provide actionable insights and recommendations, engage with senior management, and identify risks and opportunities to enhance overall performance. This role is part of our high-achieving Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team.

Additional Duties Include:

  • Holding partners accountable for performance metrics and budgets while offering support to identify and mitigate risks
  • Overseeing the planning and reporting processes for relevant departments
  • Regularly reporting actual results and providing insights into revenue and cost drivers
  • Monthly reforecasting of costs and revenues, considering changes in commercial metrics and emerging risks & opportunities
  • Facilitating the annual budgeting process with active collaboration with the Commercial teams to ensure departmental ownership of the financial plan
  • Acting as an integral member of the Commercial team, leading financial discussions within the departments
  • Co-developing business cases for investments and initiatives, with a comprehensive understanding of the financial implications of proposed changes
  • Gaining a deep understanding of airline economics and financial drivers within Commercial functions
  • Integrating airline financials, commercial drivers, and operational statistics to analyze key financial performance indicators
  • Engaging regularly with Department General Managers to drive improvements and transformations
  • Ideating and implementing revenue enhancement and cost reduction strategies as part of the transformation support within the commercial organization

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or a similar analytics-focused role, or equivalent experience in Management Consulting/ Big 4/ MBB
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and present findings to General Managers
  • Advanced financial modeling skills (Advanced Excel) and a practical approach to generating revenue/cost estimates under tight deadlines
  • Strong presentation capabilities (PowerPoint development and stakeholder engagement)
  • Experience in project management
  • Ability to quickly understand complex concepts and models, translating analysis into clear, comprehensible outputs
  • Familiarity with ASX 200/public companies and an understanding of economic drivers in commercial divisions
