The Department

The Audience Data & Insights Team is part of our Corporate Strategy Division. The team is expanding as we evolve our work, paving the way for an audience-led, data-driven transformation.

The Role

This role manages research with and for First Nations peoples and communities, providing insights for strategic direction and delivering a deep understanding of media behaviors and choices.

The research seeks to acknowledge and understand First Nations experiences, perspectives and voices, to deliver insights about the content, platform and language needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences.

  • We are seeking someone to manage and deliver research and information that provides insights into the knowledges, perspectives and voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences.
  • You will conduct research through both qualitative and quantitative methods in alignment with Indigenous research methodologies.
  • Clear actionable insights will be developed for strategic direction and presented to senior decision makers across the business to inform and guide their decisions.
  • Proactive engagement with First Nations peoples and communities will be crucial, including identifying ways to meaningfully engage and research responsibly.
  • Contribution to our understanding of the changing media landscape, particularly with a First Nations lens, by monitoring industry sources and sharing relevant information with the wider team.
About You

- Existing networks and connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander professionals, academics and communities.

- Strong relationship building skills to build authentic partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

- A deep understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and knowledge of protocols.

- Qualitative research skills, including running focus groups, community consultations and interviews.

- Quantitative research skills, including questionnaire design, survey implementation, analysis and reporting.
