About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement effective safety management systems, conduct regular inspections and audits, and provide expert advice on safety procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety management systems to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
  • Provide expert advice on safety procedures and regulations to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and develop solutions to safety-related issues.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure employees and contractors are aware of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to ensure compliance with company targets and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages, including safety management systems and data analysis tools.
