Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned animal biosecurity expert to join our high-performing team in securing Queensland's agricultural prosperity and preserving the health of our environment and economy.

Biosecurity is critical to the state's economic, environmental, and lifestyle well-being. Our team works collaboratively to mitigate biosecurity risks, uphold standards for animal welfare and management, and lead the overall response to biosecurity emergency incidents.

This role will utilize professional veterinary expertise to support an animal biosecurity system that protects Queensland's economy, environment, lifestyle, and human and animal health.

A healthy work-life balance is promoted with a standard 7.25-hour workday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex animal disease investigations and surveillance activities using sound epidemiological knowledge.
  • Provide professional advice and analysis on risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the state, including the veterinary profession, government, industry, and the community.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Veterinary Operations to develop, implement, and review an annual plan for the Veterinary Operations team with clear targets.
Requirements

A criminal history check is mandatory for all positions in this field.

Positions are available in the North and South regions of Queensland.
