About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Payroll Officers to join our team at the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO). As a Payroll Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake moderately complex payroll services, under limited direction.
  • Develop a good understanding of and comply with relevant legislation and policy requirements.
  • Provide administrative support, including processing, checking and maintaining accurate payroll data in HR systems.
  • Provide advice to a range of stakeholders on payroll queries.
Requirements
  • A logical mind with strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and an aptitude for finance-related tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to and use a range of software.
  • AE5 and AE6 – Prior experience (commensurate with level) in a payroll-related area.
  • Experience in managing and coaching staff (at the AE6 level).
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and liaison skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
