We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team at the Australian Department of Infrastructure. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for accurately processing a wide range of salary, leave, and entitlement-related transactions, in accordance with relevant legislation, delegations, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll transactions, including salary, leave, and entitlements, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide internal clients and managers with general advice and guidance on payroll-related matters.
  • Prepare and send payroll-related correspondence, including emails, to ensure that employees receive accurate and timely advice regarding their entitlements and associated conditions of employment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel and leave records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to internal and external clients and agencies.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a team performing payroll-related tasks is highly desirable.
  • Experience in, or the ability to quickly learn, SAP (SAP ECC6) is essential.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in preparing correspondence and reports, including emails and letters, on routine matters.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.

Eligibility Requirements
