Protective Caseworker - New England

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments and investigations to identify risks and concerns surrounding children and expectant parents.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive case plans to address safety and risk concerns, ensuring the best possible outcomes for families.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including NSW Health staff, to provide holistic support and services to families.
  • Engage in complex problem-solving and critical thinking to navigate high-needs cases and situations.
  • Participate in court processes, including the preparation of documents and attending court proceedings.
Requirements:
  • Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, Welfare, or a related discipline.
  • A valid driver's license and paid working with children clearance number are also required.
  • Previous experience in child protection assessment and case planning is highly desirable, particularly in prenatal cases.
  • Ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders, particularly with NSW Health and preservation services, is essential.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, is highly valued.
