Job Opportunity: Child Protection Specialist

As a Child Protection Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with parents, family members, and children to assess and address safety concerns in a sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Develop complex problem-solving strategies through collaboration with other agencies.
  • Engage with families and stakeholders across the region to provide support and guidance.
  • Conduct assessments and investigations to identify and mitigate risks for children following birth.
  • Advocate for families to access relevant support services and participate in important meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, particularly health professionals.
Requirements:
  • Essential: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, Welfare, or a related field is required.
  • Desirable: Relevant experience working with expectant parents, midwives, nurses, or in child protection assessment and case planning is highly valued.
  • Aboriginal applicants with suitable experience are encouraged to apply.
