About the Position:

The Health Worker plays a pivotal role in delivering culturally sensitive primary healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This position entails clinical duties, encompassing client assessment, observation, education, and follow-up, as well as health promotion, community engagement, and administrative tasks.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities.
  • In-depth understanding of the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the region.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and empathy towards diverse needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team, driving organisational and individual objectives forward.
  • Strong organisational skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Healthcare, and/or registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Health Practitioner.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or performing the necessary duties (desirable).
  • Familiarity with patient information systems, such as Communicare (desirable).
