This is a permanent full-time position in primary healthcare for the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community.
- Deliver comprehensive and high-quality medical services to meet the unique needs of this community.
- Provide specialist primary health care, including consultations, outreach clinics, and home visits.
- Diagnose and treat medical issues presented by patients, ensuring best practice standards are met.
- Offer health promotion and preventative advice to patients, enhancing their overall well-being.
- Participate in case conferences with relevant employees and service providers to ensure consistency and consensus.
- Adhere to Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) guidelines, including record-keeping, accreditation, and pharmaceuticals.
- Follow up patients discharged from hospital or referred to specialists, promoting continuity of care.
- Support Chronic Disease Management as outlined by the Medicare Benefit Scheme, focusing on disease detection and management.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and contribute to team growth.
- Maintain professional standards of practice, prioritizing patient safety and care.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and clients.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
- Respect equipment and property, using them responsibly to avoid damage.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to expand knowledge and skills.
- Promote a strong team culture through collaborative efforts and open communication.
- Be a qualified General Practitioner with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Hold current registration with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).
- Have experience providing primary healthcare services, particularly in rural settings.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
