We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Family Violence Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will deliver services to Aboriginal women, men and children experiencing family violence in Melbourne's West.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading culturally safe and responsive practice with Aboriginal children, women and men.
- Conducting assessments of Aboriginal people and families.
- Supporting the team through consultation, education and outreach to ensure culturally responsive work with Aboriginal families.
- Broadening the cultural safety of our services and supporting choice and self-determination of Aboriginal people.
- Cultivating effective partnerships with local Aboriginal governance groups and Aboriginal services.
- Maintaining accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and information security policies.
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Science or similar field OR equivalent experience.
- High level of awareness of issues impacting Aboriginal communities.
- Proven ability to work and engage with Aboriginal families and children.
- Demonstrated understanding of family support services and different models of intervention.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of intake processes and risk assessment.
- Ability to advocate on behalf of children, young people, individuals and families.
- Experience in case management tasks such as assessments, referrals, case planning and case closure.
- Ability to prepare accurate documents and reports.
- Current Victorian Driving Licence.
- Current Victorian Working with Children's Check.
- Recent National Police Check.
- COVID-19 Vaccination.
