Allcare Community Support Victoria focuses on people who have been diagnosed with a disability, who are NDIS eligible, and who are in need of support. Allcare has two specialist streams. The first includes young people between the ages of 7 to 25 and the second, in the 25 plus age range.

We are looking to recruit talented and experienced support workers to join the team who are seeking an opportunity that offers not only job satisfaction but the opportunity to make a positive difference to a person's life.

Being self-motivated, having the right attitude, and a high work ethic are the foundation necessary for any skilled support worker who is seeking a very satisfying role.

A summary of the position follows;
- Supporting the independence and social participation of a person with a disability
- Providing support across a full range of daily activities which may include social support, days out, domestic assistance and meal preparation.
- Encouraging the participant to reach their potential and pursue their goals through exercising choice and control and the planning and delivery of their supports.
- Encouraging positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively managing challenging behaviour
- Respecting the person's dignity and right to privacy
- Maintaining positive relationships with parent/guardians and respecting their confidentiality/privacy
- Taking reasonable care to ensure that no risk of harm to self and others takes place in the workplace. This includes immediately reporting any incidents, near miss, hazards and injuries.
- Responding to crisis within specified guidelines and seeking assistance to situations outside of specified guidelines
- Completing case notes at the end of every shift or reports as necessary

**Summary of Key Selection Criteria**
- Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Minimum of Certificate IV /Diploma in Youth Work, Certificate III in Disability/personal care, and two years relevant experience
- Current Level 2 First aid HLTAID003 and CPR certification and other compliance documentation will be required.
- Ability to think laterally and manage challenging situations to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to work independently.
- A high level of customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills

**Time Commitment**

Available to work after school hours and/or on a weekend day. This is a guideline only and could differ depending on client requirements.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $40.00 - $56.00 per hour
