Key Financial Leadership Role

This position is a critical leadership opportunity within the finance and business services team.

About the Position:
  • The role operates with autonomy, managing key day-to-day accounting functions and responsibilities, providing support to senior leadership. It is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage month-end process against agreed deadlines, ensuring accurate financial records and timely internal and external reporting.
  2. Conduct regular review and analysis of results, including completion of variance analysis and commentary for management reports.
  3. Oversee monthly cash flow management and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  4. Ensure timely delivery of financial reports, including monthly results, forecasts, and budgets.
  5. Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts and other external reports, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  6. Manage external audit processes and contribute to internal audit, ensuring seamless compliance.
  7. Oversee the preparation of BAS and FBT submissions, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with relevant regulations.
  8. Lead the financial accounting team, driving deliverables and process improvement initiatives.
About You:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance and accounting, with certification as a CPA or CA member.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience as a manager, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to drive outcomes and solve problems.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a proven track record of leading teams to achieve deliverables and drive process improvement.
  • Proficiency in using accounting systems and software packages, including Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience in Magiq and Microsoft D365 being highly regarded.
  • Experience in completing month-end close processes and internal and external reporting.
  • Experience in providing coordinated accounting and financial support in public sector environments.
  • Experience in audit processes and compliance reporting in the public sector.
