The organisation are currently seeking a Mobile Application Technical lead to join their Digital Squads team on a permanent basis, accommodating hybrid work-from-home conditions.

About the Role

The Digital Squads Mobile App Technical lead will be responsible for the technical delivery and platforms of the organisation's Frequent Flyer Mobile Application. This role also involves leading a mobile app squad, developers, and testers who maintain and deliver features in hybrid iOS & Android apps aimed at delighting and engaging users.

This position is crucial to the organisation's digital strategy, requiring strong app development specialists with native iOS and Android hands-on experience and product leadership.

About You

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all activities are managed within established parameters
  • Reducing duplication and encouraging shared environments
  • Ensuring projects meet performance standards and comply with relevant safety standards
  • Maintaining code compliance and CD/CI practices
  • Adhering to security and SDLC guidelines
  • Delivering quality code at scale, writing clean, readable, and performant code, and ensuring adequate integration and unit tests
  • Providing technical oversight and management of development resources
  • Working closely with solution/enterprise architects and cloud engineers to provide up-to-date technological advice
  • Translating technology realities into simple terms for non-technical stakeholders
  • Serving as the technical point of contact for mobile app queries
  • Driving an innovative and passionate team culture
  • Assisting development team members to meet operational and project management objectives

Qualifications/skills required:

  • Degree in computer science or software engineering
  • Experience leading or being a senior in a team that has shipped quality native mobile apps
  • iOS Mobile App development experience with Realm, Core Data
  • Android Mobile App development experience using Kotlin / Android Studio
  • API consumption experience preferably AWS
  • Strong analytic, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Enthusiastic and passionate with a can-do attitude
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to deliver high-quality software engineering practices and guidance
  • Experience with agile development methodologies specifically SCRUM
  • DevOps training/certification and experience working in a DevOps culture

Desirable skills include DevOps training/certification, agile training, eye for design and UX, aviation/airline technology experience, and experience in functional programming, Java, Objective C, and SSO.
