
Aboriginal Family Support Specialist

As an Aboriginal Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and families. This rewarding career offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Indigenous Australians.
Your primary responsibility will be to work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children, or young people to help them overcome hardships and create safe, loving homes. You will collaborate with other agencies and engage in complex problem-solving to address safety and wellbeing concerns.
You will assist families in setting goals that meet their needs and provide appropriate support through home visits. Additionally, you will develop safety plans and conduct risk assessments to ensure the wellbeing of children and young people.
Required Skills and Qualifications- You must be a confident and resilient individual who can build positive relationships with vulnerable children, young people, and families.
- You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- A relevant diploma or degree (preferred) or at least two years of experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families is essential.
- Verification of Aboriginality confirming your descent and identification as Aboriginal is mandatory.
- You will receive a competitive salary from $89,934 to $116,969 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
- You will have flexible working arrangements and 17 weeks of industry-leading training via the Caseworker Development Program.
