About the Role:

We're seeking a seasoned Transport Manager to oversee daily transport operations, drive strategic initiatives, and lead a dynamic team. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for optimizing operational performance, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport solutions, and contributing to the long-term success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key leadership role in overseeing daily transport operations, driving strategic initiatives, and leading a dynamic team.
  • Responsible for optimizing operational performance, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport solutions, and meeting organizational goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities, focusing on building and expanding relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Work closely with the sales team to support client acquisition and retention, providing insights and expertise to develop tailored transport solutions.
  • Provide leadership, development, and guidance to a diverse range of areas within the Operations, directing and building your team to ensure operational success of the national linehaul division.
  • Conduct regular customer review meetings, building strong, long-term relationships with key clients, presenting performance metrics, KPIs, and improvement plans.
  • Work within the Operations Budget to meet financial targets, achieving a business profit result while expanding future opportunities through business development and sales support.
  • Accountable for the overall performance and success of the business unit, maintaining high standards in operations and achieving operational plan goals.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Line Haul operations and people management.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, proven ability to leverage established industry relationships.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, other departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or Business Management/ or other relevant discipline, or extensive Industry experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities to oversee and guide a team of operator, dispatchers, and other personnel.
  • A deep understanding of regulations, compliance, and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and other relevant tools.
