About This Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Health Policy Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to shaping evidence-driven policies that promote better health and wellbeing for individuals.
You will work closely with stakeholders to identify, develop, and drive policy opportunities and advocacy to governments, aligned with our strategy. Your expertise in policy development and practice will be essential in providing strategic, evidence-based advice to senior leaders and translating research into tangible policy recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning, overseeing, and translating research into relevant policy recommendations
- Developing relationships with public health partners to advance policy priorities
- Leading the drafting and finalisation of policy submissions, advocacy papers, and other government-related activities
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone with a strong background in health promotion, public policy, or related fields, who can provide efficient liaison, build effective working relationships, and represent our organization professionally.
Requirements
A successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment. Essential qualifications and experience include:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Public Policy, or related field
- At least 3 years' experience in policy development and practice at state and/or federal levels
- Well-developed knowledge of government processes and machinery
