Job Title: Policy Development Specialist

The VicHealth organization is seeking a highly skilled professional to join their team as a Policy Development Specialist. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to identify, develop, and drive evidence-driven policy opportunities and advocacy to government, aligned with the organization's strategy.

The successful candidate will have a close working relationship with the Manager, Government Relations and work closely with other team members to ensure effective and coordinated delivery of the organization's strategic policy agenda. Key responsibilities include providing strategic, evidence-based policy advice, commissioning and overseeing research, and translating research into tangible policy recommendations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a relevant tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Public Policy or related field, at least 3 years' experience working in policy development and practice at state and/or federal levels preferably in public health, community or government sectors, and well-developed and applied knowledge of the machinery of government including government decision making, policy, funding, and budget processes at state and/or federal levels.
