Job Summary:

The Senior Mental Health Policy Specialist will lead a team responsible for maintaining oversight of priority mental health and wellbeing policy challenges.

This includes management of intergovernmental relations, leading and coordinating responses to new and emerging issues and risks relating to mental health and wellbeing policy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Designing and overseeing the development of key strategic initiatives
  • Providing leadership and guidance in working with the Commonwealth on key mental health and AOD policy agreements
  • Ensuring mechanisms are in place to oversee and manage Victorian mental health priorities across state-Commonwealth and Whole of Victorian Government levels

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in public policy, public administration or public health (desirable)
  • Equivalent professional experience (acceptable)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in negotiation and implementation of intergovernmental agreements
  • Co-designing new strategies, programs and initiatives with service users and providers
