About this role

We are seeking an experienced Policy Advisor to lead multifaceted health and wellbeing policy projects, conduct complex policy analysis, and provide expert policy advice on child and youth health.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to improving health and wellbeing of children and young people in Victoria.

The incumbent will work closely with key stakeholders across government and the health sector to develop and implement effective health policy initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing health policy strategies to improve child and youth health outcomes
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform policy decisions
  • Providing expert advice on health policy matters to program and policy areas across the department

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A comprehensive understanding of Victorian health, human service, and education systems
  • A strong record of policy development and demonstrated understanding of government operations at a senior level
  • An understanding of health issues facing children and young people
  • Proven ability to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication
  • A tertiary qualification in public health or a related field
