Claims Manager

The Claims Manager for the Pacific Region is responsible for managing the timely settlement of funds between clients and reinsurers, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. This role involves directing team members in preparing presentation materials and communications to resolve complex issues and secure agreements. As the Claims Manager, you will oversee transactional processes, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while promoting efficiency and regulatory compliance. You will also be fostering collaboration and process improvements, assisting in the development of information for Requests For Proposal (RFPs), and implementing reinsurance audits. This role will require strong relationship building with brokers, clients, and markets to enhance operational practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the timely settlement of funds to and from clients, ensuring compliance with all contractual payment terms, warranties, and conditions
- Direct team members in assessing and submitting client and reinsurer presentation materials to resolve complex questions and secure agreements
- Integrate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and system tools to effectively manage transactional processes and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Facilitate team and department meetings to share insights, promote collaboration, and drive process improvement initiatives leveraging technology solutions
- Develop comprehensive information on accounting and claims processes to support business growth
- Implement processes for conducting reinsurance audits and reviews, reconciling records to ensure quality in the review process
- Collaborate with peers on contentious reinsurance developments, providing training, mentoring, and guidance to enhance team capabilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and markets to address issues and improve working practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in claims management with a strong understanding of reinsurance processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and resolve issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to managing complex situations
- Experience in developing and implementing operational processes and improvements
- Proficiency in using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and system tools for managing transactional processes
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and mentor junior colleagues
- Familiarity with accounting and claims processes, particularly focusing on timely processing of claims/accounts
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely completion of assignments
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to claims and reinsurance
