Defence Contract Specialist Job

We are seeking an experienced Defence Contract Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, programme management, and supply chain management.

  • This role plays a key part in delivering the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS) under the Commonwealth's JP9101 Program.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all phases of subcontract engagement from strategy and negotiation through to execution, contract management, and closeout.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop contract terms that align with the prime contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve disputes, support claims, evaluate suppliers, and drive commercial performance.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Law or similar.
  • Relevant experience in contracts, subcontracts, procurement, supply chain, finance or programme management, preferably in a Defence context and/or large corporate environment.
  • Experience of engaging with national and international customers and suppliers.
  • Strong experience in contract management, project management, mobilising new projects and negotiation with proven track record of successful management of suppliers and maximising cost savings.
