About the Role

This is a Palliative Care Registrar position at Austin Health, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families.

As a Palliative Care Registrar, you will be responsible for the care of inpatients in the Palliative Care Unit (PCU 8S), consultations on the Austin Hospital, Repatriation and Talbot campuses as required, and attendance at palliative care clinic.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex needs, utilizing your skills and expertise to develop and implement effective care plans.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong commitment to high-quality patient care and a passion for working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care of inpatients in the Palliative Care Unit (PCU 8S)
  • Consultations on the Austin Hospital, Repatriation and Talbot campuses as required
  • Attendance at palliative care clinic
Requirements
  • AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner
  • Appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of palliative care
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Demonstrated understanding of Clinical Governance
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration
