Our organization is currently seeking a Drilling Operations Manager to oversee daily drilling activities and personnel at our mine site. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient execution of drilling operations in accordance with plans and directives from the Drill & Blast Superintendent.

About the Role
  • This position requires effective management of safety aspects of drilling operations, maintaining a safe work environment through the implementation of business processes and tools.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing shift resources and manning levels to achieve sufficient quantity and quality of drilled stock safely.
  • Maintenance of high standards for drill and blast patterns, as well as ensuring all associated equipment is in safe condition, is also essential.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality outputs are achieved, providing ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports, and driving drilling techniques and procedures that promote zero harm and improve performance and cost efficiencies are key responsibilities.
Requirements
  • C-Class Manual Driver's Licence and relevant tickets are mandatory.
  • Previous supervisory experience and ability to read and understand mine plans are required.
  • A strong knowledge of WHS Act and WHS (Mines) Regulations, along with a commitment to safety, is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build positive relationships at all levels are essential.
  • Understanding of fleet management systems and previous experience with incident investigation and/or risk assessment processes are desirable.
