Job Summary

The ideal candidate for this Conference and Events Manager role will lead and manage both the team and commercial performance of event sales and planning teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to hotels' commercial strategy and ensuring departmental adherence

  • Account managing regular event clients
  • Leading conference and events teams, fostering high-quality culture focused on relationships, customer service, and profitability
  • Developing Event Sales Team for career progression and succession planning
  • Supporting hotel promotional activities

Requirements

  • Experience in a Conference and Events Sales role within hotel/leisure sector
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret business indicators and market trends
  • Excellent sales, conversion, and coaching abilities
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Responsibility, resilience, and ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility in handling various work situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems
  • Previous similar role experience

About the Role

This Conference and Events Manager role is responsible for leading and managing the commercial performance of event sales and planning teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Conference and Events Sales role within the hotel/leisure sector and strong analytical skills to interpret business indicators and market trends.

The Conference and Events Manager will be responsible for maximizing all conference and event commercial opportunities, reviewing business plans, identifying gaps, and proactively filling capacity to meet targets. They will also contribute to hotels' commercial strategy and ensure departmental adherence, understand the competitive marketplace, and implement strategies to stay ahead.
