Glencore Australia is in search of a Superintendent for Concentrator Projects to join our Surface Engineering division. This team oversees a diverse portfolio of assets, including Copper and Zinc Lead Concentrators, as well as water infrastructure and utility projects. Role Overview
The Superintendent for Concentrator Projects will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for planning, executing, and delivering capital projects while developing strategic plans aligned with business objectives.
This role requires collaboration across all organizational levels to ensure effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk management for project delivery. Leadership of a professional team across mechanical and electrical engineering and project supervision is essential. This is a permanent position with a residential arrangement and a lifestyle roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Plan and resource project works effectively while balancing stakeholder needs.
- Communicate the annual capital portfolio and develop strategic plans for future projects.
- Lead a team to provide project support and technical assistance to the Concentrator departments.
- Manage team performance, career development, and succession planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills focused on capital project delivery.
- Ability to operate strategically and operationally, articulating a clear vision through procedures and stakeholder management.
- Extensive experience in planning and executing capital projects.
- Strong project management skills and strategic planning capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence diverse operational stakeholders.
- Clear and open communication style, both internally and externally.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field. RPEQ qualification preferred.
- 7-10 years of industry experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in capital project delivery.
