Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Cook to join our team at Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety, while also supporting the development and growth of our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure that all kitchen operations meet the highest standards of food quality and safety, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Team Development: Support the recruitment, training, and development of kitchen crew members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Cost Management: Collaborate with the restaurant manager to optimize cost of goods and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership skills, inspiring and motivating team members to achieve their best.

Requirements

  • Culinary Experience: Proven experience in a kitchen or cooking role within a busy hospitality environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Certification: Certificate in commercial cookery or equivalent experience.
  • Food Safety: Good understanding of food safety concerns and practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
