Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our Cloud Response team in Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the security and availability of AWS Cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight of in-flight security issues and triage new incoming issues to determine the level of risk they present to AWS.
- Communicate the state of these issues to various audiences, both technical and non-technical, at various levels of seniority.
- Evaluate and prioritize the remediation of security issues in conjunction with the impacted service team.
- Escalate issues to senior AWS leadership if necessary to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop and improve our tooling to enhance the security posture of AWS services.
About the Team
Our Cloud Response team operates follow-the-sun with teams based around four different geographical locations. We work closely with other AWS teams to ensure security issues are resolved with the right level of urgency.

Basic Qualifications
A BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or 3+ years' equivalent technology and cybersecurity experience.
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of proven experience in systems, network, and/or application security, with 2+ years of scripting/coding experience in any language.
