We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to be a vital part of our culinary brigade at The Star Brisbane.

Our stunning resort, situated in a prime location, is set to unveil a variety of exceptional entertainment options, luxury accommodations, and gourmet dining experiences.

This position will report to senior culinary professionals within the venue, playing a crucial role in our pre-opening team. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to prepare food items relevant to their designated station, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation while adhering to established timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food in a sanitized and organized workspace, aligned with business demands.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the entire menu, including all foundational products and ingredients.
  • Ensure food is prepared for presentation according to menu specifications and kitchen standards.
  • Exhibit proficiency in a wide range of cooking techniques and equipment, such as sautéing and braising.

Qualifications We Seek:

  • Experience in high-volume culinary settings.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations.
  • Trade certification in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.

The ideal candidate will have experience in bustling kitchen environments, demonstrating a thorough understanding of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
