We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Auxiliary Firefighter. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of our communities.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will be responsible for responding to emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, and developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses.
As an important part of our station team, you will promote a positive team approach in all work activities, comply with legislative, policy and procedural requirements, and communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers, and the general community.
Key Accountabilities- Respond to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting a safe and effective response on the fire ground.
- Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities.
- Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and other relevant training courses provided by QFES.
- Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Australian Permanent Resident Status.
- A manual C-class driver's licence.
- The ability to commit to attending 50% of calls as a day worker or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours.
- The ability to attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a casual flexible employment opportunity, with varied shifts and hours. The successful applicant will be required to live or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station.
