Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Auxiliary Firefighter to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, and contributing to community education activities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of firefighting principles, practices, and procedures, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will also be required to maintain high levels of physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments.

Requirements
  • Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
Key Accountabilities
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and other relevant training courses provided by QFES.
  • Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $65,000-$80,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including access to training and development opportunities, paid leave, and a supportive team environment.
