Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead detailed electrical design for high voltage substations, including system analysis, earthing design, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering detailed designs, conducting power system studies, FEED and detail design engineering, producing and reviewing engineering drawings, and using power system analysis tools to validate design and system performance.

You will also ensure engineering deliverables comply with relevant Australian and international standards, utility specifications, and internal QA processes. Additionally, you will assist in proposal preparation, project planning, and resource allocation, as well as mentor junior engineers and provide design reviews and approvals as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in HV substation design and power system modeling
  • Strong working knowledge of ETAP and/or SKM Power Tools (other tools like DIgSILENT an advantage)
  • Demonstrated experience with HV earthing system design and modeling
  • Familiarity with AS 2067, AS 7000, and utility-specific design standards
  • Experience with protection relays and secondary system schematics
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
