About this role:

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as a Remand Support Practitioner. As a member of our organization, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides holistic support and advocacy to individuals on remand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients on remand, providing them with integrated support and advocacy services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve service goals, including allied health professionals, legal representatives, and community services.
  • Provide trauma-informed support that meets clients' complex non-legal needs, working closely with the client to identify and address their requirements.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the best course of action for each client, utilizing your expertise in social work, community development, mental health, homelessness, and housing services.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build trust with clients.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals on remand and/or criminalized communities, allowing you to provide empathetic and informed support.
  • A flexible and patient approach, ensuring that you can adapt to the unique needs of each client and respond to changing circumstances.
  • Experience in social work, community development, mental health, homelessness, and housing services, or similar fields, providing a solid foundation for your work as a Remand Support Practitioner.
