About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Production Coordinator to support the planning effort for ship build phase of the Hunter Class Frigate Program.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with multiple departments, participating in the Integrated Work Team and supporting readiness reviews and strategy meetings.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in production coordination or scheduling, preferably within heavy engineering or similar industries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing production plans, work orders, and job cards in accordance with established planning processes.
  • Utilising Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems to schedule work using rolling wave planning techniques.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to coordinate and execute the production schedule effectively.
  • Preparing accurate production estimates based on approved business norms.
  • Identifying required Bill of Materials (BoMs) and generating detailed parts lists to support timely material issuing from the warehouse.
  • Monitoring facility utilisation to sequence tasks efficiently and optimise resource allocation.
  • Tracking, analysing, and reporting on production schedule progress and performance.
About You
  • Proven experience in production coordination or scheduling, preferably within heavy engineering or similar industries.
  • Trade experience will also be considered highly valuable.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
