Job Title:

A Laboratory Support Specialist is required to provide technical assistance and ensure the efficient operation of our science laboratories.

This key role supports the teaching staff in delivering engaging and effective practical work, while maintaining a safe and well-organized laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical support to science teaching staff, ensuring timely preparation for demonstrations and experiments.
  • Maintain an efficient system for allocation and use of materials and equipment, ensuring seamless delivery of practical work.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop safety assessments and conduct training sessions on laboratory techniques.
  • Prepare solutions, stains, and media, while maintaining strict chemical storage, handling, and disposal procedures.
Requirements:
  • Laboratory technician training suitable for the role
  • Level II First Aid certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Training (desirable)
