Administrative Laboratory Support Specialist

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the North East of Melbourne and state-wide.

  • Manage administrative tasks within a laboratory setting
  • Respond to telephone enquiries and written requests
  • Sort and distribute all samples as they arrive into the laboratory
  • Enter specimens and request details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Receive and store laboratory consumables

The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, great phone manner, excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, and the ability to work collaboratively with their team and build good working relationships across all levels of the organisation.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing administrative tasks within the laboratory. You will respond to telephone enquiries and written requests, sort and distribute all samples as they arrive into the laboratory, enter specimens and request details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), and receive and store laboratory consumables.
