Senior Accountant Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Springvale. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate preparation and analysis of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and summarise financial status and transactions reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other necessary reports in line with the financial calendar.
  • To create and analyse liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
  • PAYROLL MANAGEMENT & WORKCOVER RENEWALS: Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee payments and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Experienced in supervising, mentoring, and motivating finance team members to achieve organisational goals.
  • To identify and implement internal audit control areas as and when they arise, maintaining a strong risk management culture within the organisation.
  • Stock Control: Managing international suppliers, importing/exporting, and customs experience, including electronic transfer of funds, negotiating exchange rates, and multi-currency processing.
  • Preparation of BAS, IAS, PAYG, Super, FBT, and dealing with the ATO on taxation issues as required.
  • Liaising with the company's bankers as necessary.
  • Assist with year-end audit, statutory reporting, and income tax return.

Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • CPA Qualified preferred with minimum three years' experience leading a small finance team.
  • Strong experience working within an ERP system and Job Costing (MYOB EXO, SAP or similar).
  • PAYROLL EXPERIENCE: Proven ability to manage payroll processes efficiently and accurately.
  • Experience in a sales, service, and distribution business environment.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel, with excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
