About the Role

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced Cook to join our team at Regis Kirwan, a friendly and restful community in Townsville. As a Culinary Team Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the Chef Manager in all aspects of running the kitchen, including food safety, OHS, and quality.

You will also have the opportunity to oversee traditional compliance activities, lead and motivate the kitchen team, and contribute to stock control and ordering. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a broader catering team, and demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high-quality meals and exceptional service to our residents and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance with food safety, WHS, and quality standards
  • Leading and motivating the kitchen team to achieve high-quality meal production and delivery
  • Stock control and ordering to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Resident dietary management and adherence to special dietary needs
  • Kitchen and food cost management to optimize efficiency and reduce waste
  • Production and delivery of high-quality meals that meet resident expectations
  • Strong front-of-house presence and effective communication with residents and families
  • Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation
Requirements:
  • Cook qualifications and experience with a strong understanding of special dietary needs
  • Experience working in aged care or a similar environment would be advantageous
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, and willingness to pick up extra shifts as required
