Remote Census Manager Opportunity

Census operations managers play a vital role in ensuring high-quality field operations in regional and remote areas. This position involves coordinating and managing local teams responsible for census collection activities.

As a census operations manager, you will leverage your local knowledge and connections to coordinate and manage operations in your area of responsibility.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a small team of field staff.
  • Develop, update, and review work plans for your area of responsibility.
  • Establish relationships with the community, promote participation in the census, and work collaboratively with other census and ABS staff.

The ideal candidate will possess sound local area knowledge, the ability to read and navigate maps, and strong project management skills. Additionally, they should be able to communicate effectively with people in the workplace and community.

Key Qualities and Experience
  • Working with or advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Proven ability to communicate and develop relationships with people in the workplace and community.
  • Capability to work independently, prioritise tasks with limited guidance, and make decisions independently.
