As an Engagement Activities Coordinator within the Welfare & Engagement team, your role will be pivotal in promoting the wellbeing and emotional resilience of individuals in immigration detention. You will design and implement a variety of educational and recreational initiatives aimed at enhancing the mental health and engagement of detainees. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute positively by fostering an inclusive and respectful environment.

Your responsibilities as an Engagement Activities Coordinator will include:

  • Organizing and executing both structured and unstructured activities, encompassing educational, athletic, and leisure programs
  • Ensuring that activities are relevant, inclusive, and address the diverse needs of detainees
  • Working alongside detainees to create innovative programs that promote their wellbeing
  • Keeping precise records of all activities and reporting on their outcomes
  • Facilitating access to recreational resources, library services, and computer facilities
