Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Communications Manager to join our leadership group. As a key member, you will be responsible for protecting and enhancing the brand, reputation, and relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, media, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote our vision and goals
  • Leading proactive media relations, including cultivating relationships with journalists and identifying opportunities for positive coverage
  • Acting as the first point of contact for media enquiries and preparing timely and accurate responses
  • Developing and implementing issues management strategies, including preparation of Q&A sheets, holding statements, and coordinated responses to reputational risks
  • Supporting the preparation of briefing material for management, Board Directors, and Ministers
  • Coordinating responses to Questions on Notice (QoNs) and other formal government inquiries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency with organisational messaging
  • Project managing the development and distribution of corporate reports, including annual reports, strategic R&D plans, and annual operational plans
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A strong understanding of communications principles and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in project management and coordination
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines
