The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and water balance principles, with experience in modeling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, WBNM, or Flow-2D.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, including dam break assessments and consequence studies.
  • Assisting in the development of surface water management plans, including drainage design and spillway operations.
  • Working collaboratively with senior engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree in a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Membership with Engineers Australia, with the ability to obtain RPEQ/NER once adequately qualified.

Desirable skills and qualifications:

  • Experience with GIS and spatial analysis.
  • Familiarity with ARR guidelines and national regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
