Procurement Specialist: Delivering Excellence in Government Services

The estimated salary for this role is between $60,000 and $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Purchasing Support Officer to provide administrative support to our Procurement team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for reviewing data in Ellipse, creating purchase orders, and issuing works/services tenders with training provided. You will also maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and departmental procurement requirements and provide administrative support to the Procurement team as needed.
Your main objective will be to promote procurement as a key business function to departmental staff and handle enquiries in the absence of senior staff, demonstrating professionalism and initiative.
Key Requirements- Experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within a government or large organization
- Proficiency in using Ellipse or similar systems for data review and purchase order creation
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail in managing procurement documentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with measurable KPIs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative when supporting senior staff
