We are seeking an experienced AO6 Senior Procurement Officer to join our team in Brisbane CBD, working on strategic procurement projects for a large Queensland Government department.
About the RoleThis temporary contract up to 30 June 2025 offers flexible work arrangements, including the option to work from home. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management, with previous experience working within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement procurement strategies to improve practices in strategy, governance, management, operations, and technology.
- Evaluate methods to ensure value for money in procurement, aiming for efficiencies and cost reductions that meet government needs.
- Analyse business data using evidence-based tools to inform procurement strategy.
- Identify risks to probity and audit requirements while managing market engagement and tender processes according to policy.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and strategic thinking.
- Formal procurement, purchasing and/or contract management accreditation will be well regarded.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
