Community Support Specialist

Job Responsibilities
  • Work closely with participants to develop, action, and review case management plans tailored to their individual needs.
  • Provide practical support, crisis budgeting, information, advice, and community referrals.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of participant needs, including risk assessments and safety planning as required.
  • Deliver respectful, proactive, persistent, reliable, practical, and comprehensive support that upholds the dignity and privacy of individuals.
  • Empower participants' capacity for independent living.
  • Advocate and assist participants in accessing housing and specialist services such as drug or alcohol, mental health, legal, domestic, and family violence services.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • Certificate IV qualifications in Community Services or similar field.

  • Strong communication skills, able to quickly build rapport and influence a diverse range of people.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption).
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice).
