Purpose of the Role
This role is critical in enabling operational leadership in the delivery of Auto & General's risk management strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance and protection of the company, using data to analyze risk exposure and evaluate the control environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a strong risk and data-driven culture in Product and C&A.
- Analyze data to better understand potential and emerging risks, supporting a targeted controls assurance program.
- Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in the continual assessment of process, policy, and external changes.
- Support cost control/avoidance initiatives to enhance and protect our strategy.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory and industry compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 3-5 years' business leadership experience within the financial services industry, preferably insurance.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, engage, and develop others.
- Specific experience and associated understanding and knowledge of current and emerging regulatory, commercial, technology, and operational trends in Australia.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to build and sustain effective relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing ability.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear action.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
