About the Role

Mater Misericordiae Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Relations Advisor to join our team. This permanent, full-time role is based at our Newstead offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the negotiation, approval, and implementation of Enterprise Agreements, providing advice to HR teams and clients to ensure compliance with, and consistent application of, Enterprise Agreements.
  • Investigate and resolve workplace issues, providing accurate advice, managing risk to the business, and consulting with stakeholders on progress and outcomes.
  • Identify and address issues within existing policies and procedures, drafting new policies and procedures to ensure best practice, business-focused, and legislatively compliant employment practices.
  • Provide expert advice on industrial issues to senior management and other stakeholders, focusing on practical and viable outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external parties, including unions, to meet the organisation's operational and strategic needs.
  • Research and analyze contemporary industrial issues to provide informed advice and recommendations.
  • Support and guide the Industrial Relations Adviser in their role.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience in an IR role in a medium to large organisation.
  • Exposure to enterprise agreement negotiation and implementation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and other relevant legislation.
  • Strong interpretation and drafting skills, with the ability to create policies, contracts, agreements, and other industrial documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
