Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support and services to young people with mental health issues residing in our residential services
  • Work collaboratively with young people to promote their recovery and well-being
  • Offer client-focused, community-oriented, and sensitive support
  • Assist young people with mental health issues to develop and maintain relationships that foster independence
  • Support the improvement of daily living skills through guidance, supervision, and encouragement
  • Mentor and act as role models for young people in building positive social skills, conflict management, and healthy relationships
  • Encourage and educate young people on healthy living habits to support emotional well-being
  • Facilitate the growth of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence in the young people

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services or other related field (preferably a completed Diploma or Bachelor's degree)
  • Experience working with young people experiencing mental health issues
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to young people, their families/carers, and other stakeholders with dignity and respect
  • Capacity to assess risk and follow relevant protocols to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively
  • Demonstrated effective listening and communication skills in both written and verbal formats
  • Understanding of and commitment to duty of care principles, rights to privacy, and confidentiality
  • Ability to link program participants with relevant community resources and promote their rights, responsibilities, and recovery
  • Availability for overnight shifts
  • Eligibility to work a rotating 24/7 roster
  • Current Blue Card holder or willingness to apply
  • NDIS worker screening clearance eligibility
  • Valid Driver's license

Salary: Approximately AUD 75,000 per annum based on SCHADS Level 3 plus Super
