Mental Health Support Specialist

Located in Middle Ridge, QLD, this role offers a permanent part-time opportunity to work 2 days per week (0.4FTE) or 3 days per week (0.6FTE), with potential to increase hours.

The estimated salary for this position is AU$55,000 - AU$65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Overview
  • Provide quality support and services to young people with mental health issues residing in a residential service.
  • Work collaboratively with young people to enhance their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver client-focused, community-oriented, and sensitive support to young people.
  • Help young people develop and maintain relationships, promoting independence.
  • Mentor and act as a role model for young people in building positive social skills and healthy relationships.
  • Encourage and educate young people on healthy living habits.
  • Foster growth of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence in young people.
Requirements
  • Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or related discipline.
  • Experience working with young people experiencing mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to young people, families/carers, and stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to assess risk and manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated listening and communication skills.
  • Understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to link program participants with relevant community resources.
  • Available for overnight shifts and rotating 24/7 roster.
  • Eligible for Blue Card and NDIS worker screening clearance.
  • Current Driver's license.
